For nearly 100 years, Awrey has successfully blended the handmade quality and
personalized service you have come to expect from your neighborhood baker, with
the modern convenience and efficiency of a national foodservice bakery. Awrey
Bakeries LLC is one of the largest, privately owned baked goods producers in
the country, serving a variety of customers ranging from convenience stores to
the U.S. Military. From wholesome breakfast treats to delectable snacks and
desserts, we produce a wide assortment of product lines to meet the needs of
our customers. A true one-stop shop.
After emigrating from Canada to Detroit, the Awrey family began developing our
reputation for baking excellence. Baking in a wood-fired oven, Mrs. Fletcher
(Elizabeth) Awrey became famous for her delicious baked goods. In the years that
followed, Fletcher and Elizabeth opened a succession of neighborhood baked goods
stores. The baked goods were supplied from our first "volume-baking" facility,
and delivered in a Ford Model T truck. The three Awrey boys - Elton, Wilbur and
Thomas - also became active in their parent's business. We still treat each of
our valued customes like the original neighborhood friends that helped establish
our nationwide reputation for excellence.
While developing new products and improving old favorites, our dedication to
quality and food safety has never wavered. We have continually refined our
operating procedures. We are extremely proud of our commitment to providing our
customers with the baking industry’s highest standards of quality and food
safety.
While our products are efficiently mass-produced, baked, and fresh-frozen for
thaw-and-serve convenience, we always start from scratch. Each recipe helps
preserve our reputation for our famous homemade taste and appearance.
